Royal Enfield, the world’s largest mid-size motorcycle manufacturer, is rushing with electrification. According to the latest information, the company will probably present the electric ADV concept at the next EICMA two-wheeler show in Milan, Italy.
Although the idea shows what Royal Enfield’s electric future could be, it may be a jointly developed platform with Starkey, the Spanish business that Royal Enfield bought last year.
The company’s top management has revealed that work is underway on an electric vehicle based on platforms Royal Enfield’s and Stark Motorcycle’s platforms.
Although not verified, this concept may use Stark VARG platform components. The Stark Future VARG is an electric dirt bike with impressive performance, offering 80hp of thrust with 118kg (kerb weight).

In addition to the required management professionals already appointed, Royal Enfield has invested over Rs 1,500 crore in its electric vehicle business. CTO Umesh Krishnappa led the development project, and Royal Enfield appointed former Ducati employee Mario Alvisi as chief development officer for its electric vehicle division. Both management professionals will directly report to the company CEO, B Govindarajan.
