Kawasaki India has introduced the 2024 Z650RS, a bike with a 649cc parallel-twin engine, vintage-style styling, and traction control. The motorcycle features modern functionality and a well-adapted corner exhaust.

With a wide range of models, Kawasaki Bikes is increasing its market share in India. The most recent model in its lineup is the 2024 Z650RS, priced at Rs 6.99 lakh, ex-showroom. In India, the Kawasaki Z650RS is available in 1 standard variant and 1 color: Ebony Metallic Matte Carbon Gray.

2024 Kawasaki Z650RS: What’s new

International sales of the Z650RS variant started last year. The upgraded 2024 Z650RS is priced at Rs 7,000 more than its predecessor and comes with traction control, a significant improvement over the previous model. Except for this feature update, the motorcycle’s design, mechanics, size, and hardware are almost identical to the earlier version.

This variant adds two modes to the two-mode Kawasaki Traction Control (KTRC). Mode 1 maximizes traction control for smooth corner departures. In contrast, Mode 2 provides a more forceful intervention for rugged terrain or slippery conditions.

2024 Kawasaki Z650RS: Design and mechanical setup

Regarding styling, the Kawasaki Z650RS retains the teardrop-shaped fuel tank, one-piece seat, and circular LED headlamp that evokes vintage motorcycle components. A twin-pod instrument console completes the retro aesthetic while adding modern usefulness to this vintage-inspired design.

The mechanical configuration of the previous and current models is the same: a preload-adjustable horizontal link system at the rear and a telescopic fork at the front. Along with dual-channel ABS, front, rear, and single-disc brakes are available for braking.

2024 Kawasaki Z650RS: Performance and price

The power source is a 649cc, liquid-cooled, parallel-twin engine that produces 64 Nm torque and 68 horsepower. It is mated to a 6-speed gearbox. This engine is similar to the well-known Kawasaki Z650 and Versys 650 and is tuned similarly.

The new Kawasaki Z650RS is offered in a Single Ebony Metallic Matte Carbon Gray color palette to enhance the vintage vibe further. Regarding competitors, the Triumph Trident 660, priced at Rs 8.25 lakh ex-showroom, is the main rival in the segment.
