The Ather 450X is one of the most popular electric scooters in India, known for its usefulness and sporty look. With advanced features like LED headlights, a TFT display, fast charging, and a tire pressure monitoring system. The Ather 450X has set the benchmark for electric two-wheelers in the country. 

The 450X comes with a bunch of features, including an LED headlight mounted on the apron. A seven-inch TFT with a gray-scale dashboard, fast charging, hill assist, Bluetooth compatibility, music, and a call display. Additionally, the scooter has an auto-indicator off, navigation, guide-me-home lights, tire pressure monitoring system, document storage, OTA (Over The Air) updates, and remote charge monitoring. 

However, it is in tough competition with other electric scooters in the market. In this article, we will take a look at the top five rivals of the Ather 450X in India, their features, and how they stack up against popular electric scooters.

1. Bajaj Chetak

The Bajaj Chetak is one of the big rivals of the Ather 450X. It stands apart from the plethora of other electric scooters courtesy of its all-metal construction. A good-looking brown-and-black dual-tone seat, the same alloy wheels, and metallic paint options. The Chetak is equipped with some stunning features like an LED headlight, LED taillight, and indicators, complemented by the new 5-inch color TFT display and a reverse gear.

The electric motor delivers around 3.8 kW of continuous power 5 bhp, and 16.2 Nm of peak torque. All those numbers translate to a top speed of 70 km per hour. The Bajaj Chetak offers a range of 80 km on a single charge, and that is adequate for those looking to do city runs. It will take about 4-5 hours to charge the scooter using a standard socket. It comes in two variants. The Chetak is priced at 1.45 lakhs.

2. TVS iQube

The TVS iQube electric scooter was launched in early 2020 and happens to be the first-ever electric scooter from TVS. The TVS iQube is a well-rounded, very well-looking electric scooter from TVS Motor Company. The iQube is powered by a 4.4 kW electric motor, which develops 140 Nm of peak torque, with top speed claimed at 78 km per hour and a range of 75 km. The 0-40 km per hour sprint is done in 4.2 seconds with this scooter.

The scooter has two riding modes: economy and power. The battery can be charged fully with the standard 5A charger in about 4-5 hours. The TVS iQube is priced at just over Rs. 1.34 lakhs.

3. Ola S1 Pro

Ola Electric’s flagship scooter, the S1 Pro, is equipped with a distinctive design featuring compact dual projector LED headlights, stylish single-tone body panels, and sleek blacked-out alloy wheels. At its core, the S1 Pro houses a mid-drive IPM motor, delivering a nominal power output of 5.5kW and a peak power output of 8.5kW. Fueled by a 4kWh battery pack, this scooter requires approximately 6.5 hours for a full charge.

When operating in Eco Mode, it promises an impressive range of up to 180 km, while in normal mode, the range stands at 135 km. With a claimed top speed of 120kmph, the Ola bike S1 Pro accelerates from 0 to 40kmph in a swift 2.6 seconds. Offered in a single variant and available in 5 colors, the Ola S1 Pro is competitively priced at 1.30 lakhs.

4. Simple Energy One

Another Ather 450X’s rival electric bike is from a startup company named Simple Energy. The Simple Energy One Ev scooter comes with a powerful 7kW motor. The main feature of this scooter is that it accelerates from 0 to 40 km per hour in just 2.77 seconds and comes with a top speed of 105km. Also, the Simple Energy One is equipped with a decent range of 225 km. The electric scooter with a bunch of features is available in the Indian market in two variants. The starting price is set at Rs. 1.45 lakhs.

5. Hero Vida V1 Pro

Hero Motocorp presents the Vida V1 Pro, positioned as a formidable competitor to the Ather 450X. This electric scooter features a sleek and contemporary design, exuding a substantial and modern aesthetic. Notable design elements include an LED headlight setup on the apron and a raised rear section equipped with a split pillion grabrail.

The Vida V1 incorporates an array of cutting-edge features, such as LED illumination, a seven-inch TFT touchscreen, riding modes, cruise control, two-way throttle, keyless control, smartphone connectivity, geo-fencing, OTA updates, regenerative braking, reverse mode, and an S.O.S. switch.

Powering the Vida V1 Pro is a removable 3.94kWh lithium-ion battery, providing an impressive range of 165 km. On the other hand, the V1 Plus variant comes with a 3.44kWh unit, offering a commendable range of 142 km. Both variants share a capped top speed of 80kmph.

In terms of performance, the Pro variant accelerates from 0-40kmph in just 3.2 seconds, while the Plus accomplishes this in 3.4 seconds. With a market price set at 1.26 lakhs, the Hero Vida V1 Pro stands out as a compelling option in the electric scooter landscape.
