It is now assumed that the Bajaj Pulsar 400 will use the same engine as the Dominar 400. This 373cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine produces 35Nm and 39.4bhp on the Dominar, but its performance may differ slightly on the Pulsar 400.
