In October of 2022, Hero MotoCorp introduced a new product with a new name. The brand was formed to exclusively design and manufacture two-wheelers in the growing mobility category, where electric scooters are the hot item. When the world’s largest two-wheeler maker introduces its first electric scooter, it is wise to sit up and pay attention. 

With its first EV, the Vida V1 electric scooter, Hero MotoCorp has finally entered the electric two-wheeler market. The Hero e-scooter is equipped with a color TFT display and Bluetooth connectivity and is the only model to feature a removable battery in this price range.

1. Ola S1 Pro

The Vida V1 also comes with a simple yet practical design. It has a sharp head unit, but the headlamp is placed lower. The side profile features a two-tier design with a wide seat. On the other hand, Ola bike or scooter comes with a minimalist design. At the front, the twin headlamps flanked by rectangular DRL strips look inspired by Wall-E. Overall, the compact nature of the Ola scooter makes it a city-friendly scooter.

The Vida V1 has an electric motor that generates 6kW and a top speed of 80 kmph. Hero claims that it accelerates from 0-40 kmph in 3.4 seconds. Hero Vida V1 also offers three driving modes. In comparison, the Ola S1 Pro is one of the fastest scooters in the market. It comes with a Hyper-Drive motor that generates 8.5kW. The top speed of the S1 Pro is 115 kmph, and 0-60 kmph acceleration is claimed to be in 5 seconds. The S1 Pro also has driving modes (Eco, Normal, Sport, and Hyper).

2. Ather 450X

Hero Vida V1 is a simple, elegant scooter design with smooth lines and curves. It is available in five colors: white, orange, red, cyan, and black. The scooter has a sleek and futuristic design with sharp edges and curves. It is available in six colors: White, Grey, Salt Green, True Red, Cosmic Black, and Lunar Grey.

Hero Vida V1 has a digital instrument cluster that displays the speedometer, trip odometer, and battery status. It also has a USB charging port, side stand sensor LED headlight, tail light, turn indicators, and anti-theft alarm.

The Ather 450X has more advanced features than the Hero Vida V1. The Ather 450X features a smart touchscreen dashboard that displays navigation, trip meter, ride statistics, and more. It also has Bluetooth connectivity, voice assistant integration, theft detection, a smartphone app, geofencing, and remote diagnostics.

3. Bajaj Chetak

At the rear, the Hero Vida V1 features LED headlamps with LED DRLs and LED taillamps. The handlebar is open with a small windscreen in the center handlebar. The Vida V1 rides on telescopic suspension with 12-inch alloy wheels. It has a 7-inch digital instrument cluster, it also has Bluetooth connectivity.

The body of Bajaj Chetak has round circular headlamps and LED DRLs below them. It also gets 12-inch alloy wheels and leading-link suspension at the front and monoshock suspension at the rear. At the rear, a round digital instrument cluster with Bluetooth connectivity and LED taillamps.

Hero Vida has a 3.94 kWh battery pack that produces 8.04 bhp and 25 Nm of torque with a motor output of 4kW. It offers a range of 165 km and has a top speed of 80 kmph. It can do 0 – 80% charging in 6 hours. Bajaj Chetak is powered by a 2.88 kWh battery pack that produces 5.63 bhp and 20 Nm of torque with a battery output of 3.9 kWh. It offers a range of 90 km and has a top speed of 63 kmph. It can do 0 – 80% charging in 2 hours 45 minutes.

4. TVS iQube

Vida V1 has an attractive design that catches the eye at first glance. The Vida V1 can range up to 165 km on a single charge thanks to a hefty 3.94 kWh battery pack. It is claimed that the Vida V1 charges from 0-80 percent at a rate of 1.2 km per minute. TVS iQube, on the other hand, can travel up to 145 km on a single charge at a top speed of 82 kmph. It takes four hours and 30 minutes to be fully charged.

The Vida V1 is available in one variant, the V1 Pro Standard. Vida V1 has been priced at Rs 1.25 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) respectively. On the other hand, the standard and S variants of TVS iQube are priced between Rs 1.34 lakh and Rs 1.40 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).
