It can be broadly classified into three categories: sporty 125 cc commuters, luxury commuter bikes, and regular commuter motorcycles. HMSI offers a high-end 125cc commuter, the Honda SP 125. Honda’s lineup of commuter bikes replaces the CB Shine SP.

The company introduces Hero Glamor Xtec. It is positioned as the highest-spec vehicle in the line and is essentially a more technologically advanced version of the Glamour.

Hero Glamor Xtec also adds many features for the first time in its segment. The 124.7 cc single-cylinder, BS6-compliant engine powering the Glamor Xtec produces 10.7 bhp at 7,500 rpm and 10.6 Nm at 6,000 rpm. Hero’s unique Idle Start-Stop Mechanism (I3S) is included as standard equipment on the motorcycle. The engine is matched with a 5-speed gearbox. The disc brake variant is priced at Rs 1,09,607. Meanwhile, the price of the drum brake variant is Rs 1,04,527. The prices listed are ex-showroom Delhi.

Young enthusiasts are the target market for the new Bajaj Pulsar NS125, which is positioned as an entry-level performance model. Despite having just a 125 cc engine, Bajaj Bikes claims that the Pulsar NS125 offers several sporty features to keen teen riders.

The Pulsar NS125 is powered by an all-new 124.45 cc, single-cylinder DTSI engine. It produces 11.82 horsepower at 8,500 rpm and 11 Nm of peak torque at 7,000 rpm. A 5-speed gearbox is fitted with the engine. It is priced at Rs 1,18,724 (ex-showroom), and the Bajaj Pulsar NS125 is positioned as a sporty 125cc motorcycle.

The best-selling 125cc motorcycle in India is the Honda Shine, which is also the company’s best-selling motorcycle overall. When comparing Honda Shine vs SP 125, both bikes have 125cc engines and almost similar power output.

4. TVS Ntorq 125

One of the most powerful 125cc scooters is the TVS NTorq 125, a competitor to the Honda SP 125. TVS’s top-spec NTorq 125 Race XP variant is now available at Rs 1,09,110 (ex-showroom, Delhi). Updates to TVS’s flagship scooter include a new color scheme, road and race modes of operation, and an upgraded SmartXonnect connection platform with ‘Voice Assist.’

The scooter’s 124.8 cc single-cylinder engine remains the same, but the Race XP variant produces 10.06 horsepower at 7,000 rpm, while the standard model produces 9.25 horsepower at the same speed. This represents an increase of 0.81 hp. Peak torque has also been increased slightly, now coming in at 10.5 Nm at 5,500 rpm instead of 10.5 Nm at the same rpm.

5. KTM 125 DUKE

The current price of KTM 125 Duke is Rs. 2,05,290. The flagship KTM 1290 Super Duke R served as inspiration for the design of the KTM 125 Duke. The steel trellis frame chassis is more visible due to the updated bodywork. According to KTM, the entry-level model of KTM in India gets a larger 13.5-litre steel fuel tank, a new bolt-on rear subframe, and a new WP suspension.

The 125 cc single-cylinder engine of the KTM 125 Duke produces 12 Nm at 8,000 rpm and 14.3 horsepower at 9,250 rpm. This engine is unchanged. The 2021 model also gets the same single-channel ABS, single front disc brake system, and 6-speed gearbox.
