The Rizta, Ather’s most recent electric scooter offering, generated a lot of interest in the two-wheeler industry. Offered in two variants, S and Z, this is the Bengaluru-based scooter manufacturer’s first attempt at a family-friendly product. However, TVS Bikes has been selling the iQube S, a comparable product, for some time. In order to determine which would be superior, we have compared the two on paper.
Hardware & Dimensions
Both scooters feature telescopic forks for the front suspension and 12-inch alloy wheels. The Ather Rizta Z has mono-shock absorbers at the back, while the TVS iQube ST employs hydraulic twin-tube shock absorbers.
In addition, the TVS iQube ST features a rear drum brake of 130 mm and a front disc brake measuring 220 mm. The Ather Rizta Z has a front 200 mm disc brake, a rear 130 mm drum brake, and a CBS (Combined Braking System).
Design
The two electric scooters in India offer straightforward, sophisticated, and kid-friendly designs. The TVS iQube ST has a boxy body style with integrated LED handlebar DRL and LED headlamps on the apron. Many find it intriguing due to its simplicity. Eleven colors, including Titanium Grey, Pearl White, and Walnut Brown, are offered for the iQube ST.
Similar to that, the Ather Rizta Z boasts a clutter-free, family-friendly layout. There are seven colors available: Alfonso Yellow, Cardamom Green, Pangong Blue, and Yellow. The two scooters were designed with usability and practicality in mind.
Features
Both the Ather Rizta Z and the TVS iQube ST have a tonne of features. However, the Ather Rizta Z has more. Turn-by-turn navigation, SMS and call alerts, document storage, music management, four display themes, social networking notifications, and over-the-air updates are all included in the TVS iQube ST, which has a seven-inch TFT display.
On the other hand, the competing Rizta Z features traction control, auto hold, mobile charging, and reverse modes in addition to Smart, Eco, and Zip modes. With the help of an entirely digital console, smartphones can access Google Maps, real-time traffic information, caller auto-replies, and WhatsApp previews. However, the Pro Pack—which adds Rs. 20,000—is the only way to access these sophisticated capabilities.
Performance
The Ather Rizta Z and TVS iQube ST are two strong electric scooters. With a 3.4 kWh battery, the TVS iQube ST can provide 140 Nm of torque and 4.4 kW of power. It has a 100-kilometer range on a single charge and a top speed of 78 km/h. It takes 4 to 4.5 hours to charge the battery fully.
Conversely, the Ather electric scooter, Rizta Z, boasts a powerful 2.9 kWh battery that produces 22 Nm of torque. It can travel farther—123 km on a single charge—and reach a faster maximum speed of 80 km/h. Nevertheless, it takes longer—roughly six to eight hours—to charge the battery.
Price
The 2.9kWh battery version of the Ather Rizta Z costs Rs. 1.25 lakh, while the larger battery option costs Rs. 1.45 lakh. The iQube S retails for Rs. 1.46 lakh from TVS (both ex-showroom, Bengaluru). Because the Ather Rizta Z is less expensive, more feature-rich, and performs better than the iQube, it is, therefore, a better bargain.
