Ather’s new electric scooter, the Rizta Z, is generating a lot of interest in the electric two-wheeler market. However, there are already a few competitors, such as the Ola S1 Pro. To find out which of the two electric scooters is superior on paper, we have compared them side by side.
Design
Despite being straightforward, the two EVs have very distinct designs. The bodywork of the Ather Rizta Z is more boxy and has fewer creases and cuts overall. It appears roomy and useful. The Ola S1 Pro has curvaceous bodywork and a somewhat younger aesthetic. Though appearances are subjective, both EVs’ designs will undoubtedly appeal to quite different types of consumers.
Features
With the Rizta Z, Ather electric scooter has provided all the bells and whistles. The Pro Pack includes a plethora of functions, such as traction control, auto hold, reverse mode, smart, eco, and zip ride modes. Its digital instrument console activates and regulates these choices. In addition, it has smartphone connectivity for WhatsApp preview, live traffic statistics, auto call replying, and Google Maps.
The Ola S1 Pro boasts several features, including four ride modes (Eco, Normal, Sport, and Hyper), smartphone connectivity, ride moods, music, WiFi connectivity, proximity control, three levels of regenerative braking, and remote boot access. This is a close contest between the Rizta and S1 Pro.
Hardware
The hardware for both electric scooters is comparable. They are equipped with telescopic front forks, a single rear shock, and a front disc and rear drum brake system. But compared to the Ola, the Ather scooter has more storage space.
Battery And Motor
The Rizta Z is powered by a 3.7kWh battery and a 4.3kW motor. It has a 160 km range and a top speed of 80 km/h. Meanwhile, the Ola S1 Pro has a 4kWh battery and an 11kW (peak power) engine. It boasts a top speed of 120 kmph and a maximum range of 180 km. The S1 Pro has a bigger battery than the Ather scooter, even though the real-world figures might be lower.
Price
The Rizta Z is priced at Rs. 1.19 lakh by Ather, and if you choose the Pro Pack, it increases to Rs. 1.49 lakh. Ola S1 Pro price, on the other hand, costs Rs. 1.48 lakh (ex-showroom, Bengaluru). It’s clear that the two bikes have comparable features and performance, yet their asking prices differ substantially. On paper, the Ola S1 Pro is a better offer.
