Bajaj Pulsar N160 Vs TVS Apache RTR 160 4V

Bajaj Auto has been updating its Pulsar series models nonstop. Along with the release of the NS400Z, the N160 and its siblings have also been updated in the past several months. We have compared the TVS Apache RTR 160 4V with the new Bajaj Pulsar N160 to see which, on paper, delivers more value for the money.

Engine

An engine with a displacement of 164.82cc powers the Bajaj Pulsar N160. At 8,750 rpm, it produces 15.68 horsepower, and at 6,750 rpm, 14.65 Nm. There is a five-speed gearbox connected to the motor. Conversely, TVS has an oil-cooled 159.7cc engine that produces 17.31bhp and 14.73Nm. The Apache leads even in terms of performance thanks to its higher power figures.

Hardware

Pulsar N160 vs Apache 160 4V mileage

The standard Bajaj Pulsar N160 has a monoshock and an inverted fork. There are two discs for stopping: a 300mm disc up front and a 280mm disc behind. More safety is ensured by the dual-channel ABS, which keeps the wheels from locking up during severe braking. It was the first with dual-channel ABS in its class. The 17-inch alloy wheels of the Pulsar N160 have tubeless tyres with 100 sections up front and 130 sections in the back. With a ground clearance of 165mm and a seat height of 795mm, the bike is reasonably accessible for riders of varying heights. 

The TVS Apache RTR 160 4V has a monoshock and telescopic fork in addition to a double-cradle frame. In the standard model, the brakes are provided by a 130mm drum at the rear and a 270mm petal disc up front. The rear brake in every other version is a 200mm petal disc brake, while the front disc is still the same. The front tyre on the bike is a conventional 90-section tubeless tyre, while the drum version has 110-section rubber. A 130-section radial tubeless tyre is located at the back of every other version. 

Features

With the 2024 Pulsar N160, Bajaj Bikes in India unveiled several significant upgrades, including the introduction of a fully digital console with smartphone connectivity. The bike now has all the required readouts, the ability to accept and refuse calls, and call and SMS notifications.

However, the TVS Apache RTR 160 4V also comes with all of these features and ride modes. All Apache models come with rider modes as standard equipment, however only the highest-spec models include Bluetooth connectivity. In addition, TVS provides an adjustable clutch and brake lever for the Apache RTR 160 4V special edition. In comparison to the Pulsar, the TVS bike has more features overall.

Design

Both bikes have a similar muscular and sporty style, but the general commuter posture is still present and serves to counterbalance the theme. Both the Apache RTR 160 4V and the Pulsar N160 have an alluring, youthful appearance. They are available in various colors and have an LED headlight that is positioned between a turn signal bulb configuration. These two have a distinctive and appealing front appearance. While the Apache RTR 160 has a horizontal LED strip with low and high beams on either side, the Pulsar N160 has an LED projector bulb in the center with eye-brow-like LED DRLs.

Price

The starting price of Pulsar N160 Single Channel ABS is Rs. 1,44,766. The prices of the other versions are as follows: Rs. 1,57,573, Rs. 1,58,765, and Rs. 1,63,629 for the Pulsar N160 Dual Channel ABS, Pulsar N160 Dual Channel ABS [2024], and Pulsar N160 Bluetooth.
