The NS400Z, Bajaj Auto’s most potent and costly Pulsar model, has finally made its debut. In addition to being Bajaj’s largest launch to date this year, it has established Pulsar as a family name in the 300–400cc class. In this segment, the TVS Apache RTR 310 and the Bajaj Pulsar NS400Z are competitors. Let’s examine the comparison now.

The Pulsar NS400Z is powered by a 373cc engine producing 39.4bhp at 8,800 rpm and 35Nm at 6,5000 rpm. It has an assist and slipper clutch and a six-speed gearbox.

A 312.2cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine powers the Apache RTR 310, producing 35 horsepower at 9700 rpm and 28.7 Nm at 6650 rpm. The gearbox has six speeds connected to it. In addition to having a larger engine, the Pulsar NS400Z produces greater power and torque than the TVS Motorcycle.

Both motorcycles have mono-shocks and USD front forks in a golden hue. The front and rear disc brakes are installed on 17-inch wheels as part of the braking hardware. TVS sells the Apache RTR 310 with Michelin Road 5 rubber; however, the Pulsar NS400Z utilizes MRF tyres. While Michelin tyres offer better traction, their price is also higher.

With four ride modes—Road, Rain, Sport, and Off-road—and switchable traction control, Bajaj has packed the Pulsar NS400Z with features. Next, it receives an LCD screen with Bluetooth connectivity to display turn-by-turn navigation information and notifications for incoming calls, missed calls, and SMS.

The TVS Apache RTR 310 includes all LED lighting, a TFT with smartphone and GoPro connectivity, call and SMS alerts, ABS, and ride modes. A six-axis IMU device for cornering ABS, cornering traction control, and cornering cruise control is also included, along with a climate-controlled seat. The bike also features a bidirectional quick-shifter and a tyre pressure monitoring system.

The TVS bike has more features than the NS400Z Pulsar.

It’s reasonable to argue that both the Pulsar NS400Z and the Apache RTR 310 have a visually arresting, appealing, and youthful appearance, even though this is entirely subjective. Both have appealing muscular naked bike styles. They each receive dual-tone paint jobs, stylish graphics, and LED headlights.

The Pulsar NS400Z is available from Bajaj Auto in the following four colors: Pewter Grey, Metallic Pearl White, Glossy Racing Red, and Ebony Black. On the other hand, the Apache RTR 310 is available in three different colors: Sepang Blue, Arsenal Black, and Fury Yellow.

While the TVS Apache RTR 310 is priced at Rs. 2.50 lakh (both ex-showroom, Delhi), the Bajaj Pulsar NS400Z is asking for Rs. 1.81 lakh. In terms of performance, the Pulsar outperforms the TVS Apache RTR 310, has comparable hardware, a few fewer features, and is noticeably less expensive.
