2024 New BMW R 1300 GS – Top 5 Highlights

The BMW R 1300 GS recently made its world premiere, and while opinions on the bike’s design are mixed online, the ADV is making waves with its entirely new visual language. Whether it is off-road or on the road, the R 1300 GS seeks to provide a new caliber of performance.

A new BMW bike is going to be launched in India soon, which is excellent news. But before that, let’s talk about the five best features of the recently launched BMW R 1300 GS.

Engine

The BMW R 1300 GS is propelled by a 1,300cc boxer engine with liquid cooling. At 6,500 rpm, it produces 149 Nm and 145 horsepower. The engine uses a shaft drive system and is connected to a six-speed gearbox. This system’s advantage is that you do not have to worry about general maintenance or chain slack adjustments. However, the shaft does require a prompt inspection.

The BMW R 1300 GS base model is available for Rs. 20.95 lakh, while the Pro and Pro M Sport have separate asking prices of Rs. 23.10 lakh and Rs. 25.25 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).

Newly Designed Frame

The new adventure bike is built on a newly designed steel sheet metal shell main frame that, according to BMW, has been tuned to provide superior stiffness and space. These days, the back structure is made of die-cast aluminum. The outcomes are lighter weight, improved rigidity, and enhanced control—mainly while riding off-road.

Modified Suspension

The bike’s suspension has also been updated, with a new EVO para lever unit at the back and an EVO telelever unit up front. BMW also provides an optional dynamics suspension, allowing for on-the-go adjustments to the spring preload and damping. Additionally, the optional DSA has an adjustable seat height that dynamically changes the saddle height when riding slowly or at a stop.

Design

The R 1300 GS appears more streamlined and compact than its predecessor. It receives a new headlight that matches the bodywork overall and seems symmetrical. The bike has LED DRLs positioned diagonally and a projector in the center. The arrangement is packed between a clear visor above and a beak below.

The BMW R 1300 GS is available in four paint finishes: Option 719 Aurelius Green, Light White, GS Trophy, and Triple Black. The hardware and technology used in these variations vary much more.

Ride-Aiding Devices

Naturally, the R 1300 GS is equipped with an extended range of features. Keyless ignition, a 6.5-inch full-color TFT display, and four standard riding modes—Rain, Road, Eco, and Enduro—are included. Customers can also choose to upgrade to the Pro package, which unlocks three additional riding modes: Enduro Pro, Dynamic Pro, and Dynamic. Radar-based technologies, including adaptive cruise control, front collision warning, lane change warning, and active cruise control, are available if you choose the riding assistant package.
