Here are some of the most valued electric two-wheelers launched in India in 2023, from TVS X to Kinetic Zulu.

There are a lot of two-wheelers launched in 2024, especially in the electric vehicle (EV) market. Apart from scooters, many electric motorcycles were also introduced this year. Here are some of the most popular electric motorcycles launched in India in 2023.

Top 10 Electric Two-Wheelers Launched in India in 2023

1. TVS X

In August this year, TVS Motors unveiled its flagship electric two-wheeler, “X,” at Rs 2.50 lakh (ex-showroom). The electric scooter – which is based on the Creon concept unveiled at the Auto Expo– is the most expensive scooter to date. Although deliveries of the e-scooter were scheduled to begin in November, there has been no official update on this front.

The TVS X has an 11kW electric motor that runs on a 4.44 kWh battery pack. It can reach a top speed of 105 kmph and accelerate from 0 to 40 kmph in 2.6 seconds. TVS has not yet revealed the exact range of electric scooters.

2. Orxa Mantis

November this year saw the launch of Orxa Energy’s production-spec Mantis, which was first shown as a concept at the India Bike Week event. The Mantis is equipped with an 8.9kWh battery pack with an IDC range of 221 km on a single charge and is priced at Rs 3.60 lakh (ex-showroom). Talking about performance, it can reach a top speed of 135 kmph and can accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in 8.9 seconds. The battery pack can be charged from 0% to 80% in 2.5 hours with a 3.3kW fast charger.

3. Ola S1 X

Ola Electric introduced its most affordable model, S1 X, in August this year, with a Price of Rs 89,999 (FAME II with subsidy, ex-showroom). With two different battery options – two kWh and three kWh – it can go up to 85 km and 90 km, respectively, on a single charge. With a hub-mounted motor, the base model of the Ola S1 X can accelerate from zero to 40 kmph in 4.1 seconds, while the two higher-spec models can reach the same speed in 3.3 seconds.

4. Oben Rorr

The Oben Rorr, which was unveiled last year, was formally launched in July this year for Rs 1.50 lakh (ex-showroom). With a maximum torque of 330 Nm and an 8.8 kW PMS motor, this bike can reach a top speed of 100 Kmph and accelerate from 0 to 40 Kmph in less than 3 seconds. With a 4.4 kWh battery pack, it can travel 187 kilometers in the IDC range on a single charge.

5. Kinetic Zulu

Earlier this month, Kinetic Green, the company’s electric vehicle (EV) division, introduced its all-new Zulu electric scooter to the public. The Kinetic will later introduce a variation with an oil-cooled battery arrangement, with the regular battery pack starting at Rs 94,990 (ex-showroom, Mumbai, including FAME II).

5. Simple Energy Dot One

In December this year, Bengaluru-based company Simple Energy introduced a new entry-level scooter, Dot One. The Dot One is powered by an 8.5 kW electric motor that produces 72 Nm of peak torque and is priced at Rs 1.0 lakh (ex-showroom). The top speed of the scooter is rated at 105 Kmph, and it can accelerate from 0 to 40 Kmph in just 2.77 seconds. The motor is powered by a 3.7 kWh battery pack with a single-charge range of 151 km. It has a 35-liter boot with a USB charging connector.

7. Bajaj Chetak (Urbane Variant)

If you want to buy an affordable electric scooter, then Bajaj Chetak is an excellent option. The Chetak is available in three variants: Premium, Urban Standard, and Urban Techpack. An electric motor with a 4200W output powers the Chetak. The weight of Bajaj Chetak is 133 kg. Chetak has a drum brake at the rear and a disc brake at the front. Bajaj Chetak is available in six colors: Cyber White, Indigo Metallic, Satin Black, Brooklyn Black, and Matte Mote Grey.

8. Rowwet Rame XL

Rowwet Rame XL is another new electric two-wheeler that launched in 2023 for Rs. 1.92 lakh. There is only one version available. With a maximum speed of 60 km/h, the Rame XL takes about 3-4 hours to charge fully.

An electric motor with a 3500W output powers the Rame XL. The Rowwet Rame XL STD has a 2.1-volt battery. Both front and rear disc brakes are standard on the Rame XL. This electric vehicle is available in three colors: black, pearl white, and white.

9. Ampere Reo Li Plus

The all-new Ampere Reo Li Plus electric scooter is available in one variant and four colors. Drum brakes are provided on both front and rear in Ampere Reo Li Plus. In terms of performance, the hub motor produces 16 Nm of torque at 420 rpm and 1200 Watts of power. As per specifications and features, Reo Plus Li has an indicator for empty distance and a digital console type. The ARAI range of this Ampere electric scooter is 60 kilometers per charge. Its base variant, Reo Li Plus Standard, is priced at Rs. 70,077 (ex-showroom).
