Ampere, an EV manufacturer based in Bengaluru, has introduced the Nexus, their new flagship model of electric scooter. There are now two versions of this e-scooter available: EX and ST. What these two Ampere Nexus variants have in common is as follows.
Ampere Nexus EX
This is the entry-level Ampere electric scooter model, priced at Rs. 1,09,900 (ex-showroom, Bengaluru). The 6.2-inch display on the EX-variant lacks smartphone connectivity, music control, navigation, and even charging statistics.
It has a 4.0kW peak power motor and is powered by a 3kWh battery. The system has a maximum range of 136 kilometers and a top speed of 93 mph. There are five ride modes available for the Ampere Nexus scooter: Eco, City, Power, Limp, and Reverse. It receives OTA updates and has complete LED lighting.
The hardware consists of two 12-inch wheels with 90/90 tyres wrapped around them. The Ampere Nexus scooter’s suspension consists of dual rear shocks and telescopic front forks. Braking is accomplished by a rear drum brake and a front disc brake.
Ampere Nexus ST
The EX-variant and this top-spec model are identical in terms of hardware, battery, motor, and design. However, the price is Rs. 1,19,900 (ex-showroom, Bengaluru), which is an additional Rs. 10,000. This is a result of the 7-inch TFT, music control, auto day/night switch, navigation, and charging statistics that come with the ST model.
The four available colors for the Nexus variants, EX and ST, are Steel Grey, Indian Red, Zanskar Aqua, and Lunar White.
