This limited edition Vespa 986 Dragon scooter was introduced by Vespa Scooters worldwide and has arrived in India through the CUB channel. Only a few thousand of the limited edition scooters are available for purchase worldwide, and they were introduced to celebrate Hong Kong’s Lunar New Year. Every year is symbolized by an animal in the Chinese zodiac; the dragon, the fifth animal in the cycle, is strongly linked to Lunar New Year festivities. Here are the five best parts of it.
DESIGN
The Vespa 946 has an exquisite appearance in every way. What draws attention is its exquisitely designed front apron, which draws inspiration from the “Wasp” styling as seen in the swooping tail portion. The rider’s seat’s floating effect, the gills on the side panels, and the tail rack are further striking elements. The light gold bodywork and the striking emerald green dragon motifs are unique to the Vespa Dragon 946.
FEATURES
The new scooter in India is equipped with dual-channel ABS, a digital display, and LED headlights and taillights as standard features.
HARDWARE AND ENGINE
There is just one engine option available for the Vespa 946 Dragon. It is a single-cylinder, air-cooled, 155cc engine. The unit is housed within a monocoque chassis that is supported by a five-step, preload-adjustable shock absorber at the back and a single-arm shock absorber at the front.
The scooter has 12-inch wheels on both ends that are fitted with a front 120/70 section tire and a rear 130/70 section tire. Two 220mm discs at each end handle the braking tasks.
LIMITED EDITION
Considering that there are only 1,888 of these scooters available worldwide, you have to admit that this one is infrequent. Only a small number of these will reach our shores, and they will be distributed according to first come, first served.
SPECIAL STYLING JACKET
This package also includes the Vespa 946 Dragon’s design jacket. It has plush Nappa leather sleeves and ribbed wool in a light beige color. The emerald green dragon embroidery on the jacket’s back panel and front left pocket is the design feature that stands out the most.
PRICE
The Vespa 946 is pricey at ex-showroom, Rs 14.27 lakh. It is more expensive than the Rs 11.25 lakh BMW C 400 GT. Its 350cc engine is far more powerful, and it has more functions. However, some people believe that exclusivity comes at no cost, and in such a case, the Vespa 946 would be the perfect choice.
