Bajaj Freedom 125 CNG Bike – Top 5 Highlights

The Freedom CNG motorcycle, maybe one of Bajaj Auto’s most significant vehicles, has finally been launched. This motorbike is the first in the world to run on both fuel and CNG. There are three different models of the motorcycle available, with pricing starting at Rs 95,000. These are the motorcycle’s top five features.

MILEAGE & CNG TANK

The 2 kg CNG tank that is fitted under the seat is the Bajaj Freedom’s main talking point. Additionally, the motorcycle has a 2-liter spare fuel tank located just in front of the seat. According to Bajaj, the bike can travel up to 102 kilometers on a single kilogram of compressed natural gas (CNG). The bike can travel up to 330 kilometers when using its 200 km CNG-only range in addition to the mileage from its fuel tank.

Compared to a pure-petrol 125cc motorbike, the Freedom running on CNG will reduce daily running expenses by fifty percent, lessen CO2 emissions by twenty-six percent, and allow owners to save up to Rs seventy-five lakhs in fuel over five years.

ENGINE & HARDWARE

A 125cc air-cooled single-cylinder engine powers the Freedom 125. It has a five-speed gearbox and produces 9.37 horsepower at 8,000 rpm and 9.7 Nm at 5,000 rpm. According to Bajaj, the Freedom 125’s 2-liter fuel tank and 2-kg CNG cylinder let it travel roughly 330 km in a single trip. The ports for CNG and petrol refueling use a similar flap. Using a switch on the left handlebar cube, riders can alternate between running on fuel or CNG.

Its hardware consists of a monoshock and standard telescopic front forks. The standard model has 80/90 front and 80/100 rear tires, however, the range also commonly employs 17-inch front and 16-inch rear wheels. The tires on the Disc LED and Drum LED versions are 90/80 up front and 120/70 in back. The Freedom 125 CNG bike is available in two variants: the top-spec model only has a front disc and rear drum brake arrangement, while the other two have drum brakes on both ends.

VARIANTS & COLORS

There will be three versions of the Bajaj Freedom available: Drum, Drum LED, and Disc LED. The top-tier model is equipped with an LED headlamp and a disc brake up front. The base variant has non-LED headlights in addition to drum brakes on both ends, while the mid-variant is devoid of a front disc brake.

There are two color variations available for the base Drum variant: Ebony Black with red accents and Pewter Grey with yellow accents. Five color variations are available for the other two variants: Pewter Grey with black accents, Ebony Black with gray accents, Cyber White, Racing Red, and Caribbean Blue.

FEATURES

For the Disc LED and Drum LED variants, Bajaj has provided the Freedom 125 with LED lighting; the base trim is equipped with a halogen lamp. Furthermore, the two other models receive an LCD without any connectivity features, while the Disc LED trim additionally receives a reverse LCD with smartphone connectivity. CBS provides the safety net for all Freedom 125 models. Not to add that it features a switch that allows you to switch between petrol and CNG.

PRICE

The Bajaj Freedom 125 Drum model is being offered for Rs.95,000. Additionally, the prices of the Drum LED and Disc LED (ex-showroom, Delhi) are Rs.1.05 lakh and Rs. 1.10 lakh, respectively.
