Renowned Austrian motorcyclist KTM Bikes has unveiled the RC 390 worldwide for 2024. The designs of the company’s factory racing team serve as inspiration for this revised bike, which also gets two new color schemes. In our country, it competes with the Kawasaki 2024 Ninja 400 in the middleweight supersport division.
Which of these two is the better value? Let’s explore.
KTM RC 390 and Kawasaki Ninja 400: Things to know
With its Ninja line, Kawasaki was the driving force behind establishing India’s entry-level middleweight supersport market. Nevertheless, the Japanese brand saw a decline in the popularity of its Ninja 300 with the introduction of the KTM RC 390. The bike maker addressed this issue by releasing an upgraded Ninja 400 in the sub-500cc class.
Design
The 13.7-liter, angular-looking fuel tank, LED headlights with DRL, split seats with subframe bolster, side-slung exhaust, and full-color TFT instrument panel are all features of the KTM RC 390. The Ninja 400 features an LED tail lamp, a clip-on handlebar, an upswept exhaust, a muscular fuel tank, a short tail section, and dual LED headlights. 17-inch alloy wheels have been installed on both bikes.
Engine and Specs
A 373cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine powers the KTM RC 390, producing a maximum power output of 43 horsepower and a peak torque of 37 Nm. The Kawasaki Ninja 400 is powered by a 399cc liquid-cooled parallel-twin engine with a maximum power output of 44.3 horsepower and peak torque of 37 Nm. Both engines are fitted with a six-speed manual gearbox. But the RC 390 has been given a quick shifter.
Safety
Both the Ninja 400 and the RC 390 feature dual-channel ABS and disc brakes at both ends. But the Ninja 400 also gets a traction control system and ABS cornering function. The Ninja has telescopic front forks, while the RC 390 has inverted front forks. A mono-shock unit is located at the rear of both.
KTM RC 390 and Kawasaki Ninja 400: What to choose
