2024 New Updated Bajaj Chetak - Variants Explained

The most affordable Chetak electric scooter was recently launched by Bajaj Bikes in India. With it, the brand now offers three distinct Chetak variations. What else about the three is different, outside their price? Explore all three available variants of Bajaj Chetak.

Bajaj Chetak 2901 Special Edition

The newest and least expensive model in the series is the Chetak 2901. The price (Avg. ex-showroom) is Rs. 98166, and it comes with the smallest battery pack available in the Chetak lineup. A 2.8kWh battery powers the 2901, which has a 123 km range and a maximum speed of 63 kmph. The standard trim of the Chetak 2901, surprisingly, delivers more range and the same top speed as the Urbane standard.

For 2901, you get features like Bluetooth connectivity, hill hold, and reverse mode—things you’ll use every day. Therefore, you can afford to spend the extra money if you believe those features will be useful to you. Five color options are available for the new Bajaj Chetak 2901 variant: Lime Yellow, Racing Red, Ebony Black (MET), Azure Blue, and Cyber White.

In addition, Bluetooth connectivity allows you to control music and calls. It competes with the TVS iQube (2.2kWh), Vida V1 Plus, Ola S1 X, Ather Rizta S, and Ampere Nexus EX.

Bajaj Chetak Urbane

The Premium and the 2901 are separated by the Urbane. It comes in four colors: Matte Coarse Grey, Cyber White, Brooklyn Black, and Indigo Metallic. It costs Rs.1,20,149 (Aveg. ex-showroom). With a 2.9kWh battery, the Chetak Urbane can travel 113 km at a maximum speed of 63 kmph.

Surprisingly, for its higher price, the Urbane has a smaller range than the 2901. The regular variant’s peak speed is identical to that of the 2901. Additionally, the Bajaj Chetak price is increased by Rs.8,000 for the TecPac feature. That is a little more substantial, so if the additional features do bring that much more value, we would advise you to spend the extra money.

In the Bajaj Chetak portfolio, it is the mid-spec model that competes with the Ampere Nexus ST, Ather 450S, TVS iQube (3.4kWh), Ola S1 Air, and Vida V1 Pro.

Bajaj Chetak Premium

Not to mention, the Premium is the highest-spec Chetak. At Rs.1,25,948 (avg. ex-showroom, Bengaluru), it is the priciest option available. The Chetak Premium has a maximum speed of 73 kmph and the longest range of 123 km. For Rs.9,000, it also receives the Tec Pac, which has features like navigation, call and SMS alerts, sequential blinkers, smartphone hookup, hill hold, and reverse mode.

The Chetak Premium is available in three colors: Indigo Blue, Hazelnut, and Brooklyn Black.

It features Turn-by-turn navigation, audio controls, and phone notifications all made possible with Bluetooth connectivity. The TVS iQube ST (3.4kWk), the Ola S1 Pro, and the Ather 450X are its competitors. Thus, the Premium version can make sense for you if you’re prepared to invest the money and you want the best possible gear.

Conclusion

The aforementioned sections explain how various Chetak variations compete with equivalent models of electric scooters from companies such as Ola Electric, Ather Energy, TVS, and others. The more reasonably priced 2901 model has broadened Chetak’s offering to the point where it can now compete with other EV manufacturers on all fronts.

Moreover, one of the most popular electric scooters on the market is the Chetak. Thus, it is likely that the 2901 will increase sales even more. Additionally, Rajiv Bajaj has revealed the launch of a new scooter based on an entirely new platform, meaning the Chetak lineup will get a makeover in 2025. Thus, things will undoubtedly get exciting!
