Ola S1 Pro: Gen 1 vs Gen 2

Ola Electric launched the second generation of its most popular electric scooter, S1 Pro, on 15 August 2023. All the scooters have seen significant improvements over the older models, most of which are new.

Ola Electric has recently made several updates to its electric scooter line-up. The Bengaluru-based brand introduced a host of changes ranging from new model launches to updates to new e-scooters. Additionally, it also launched the S1 Pro Gen 2, which is now the flagship Ola scooter.

S1 Pro Gen 1 vs S1 Pro Gen 2: Design

The design of Ola S1 Pro Gen 2 looks almost similar to the older Ola S1 Pro Gen 1 electric scooter. Both the Ola S1 Pro Gen 1 and Gen 2 models look similar, but there are slight differences. The older S1 Pro has a central spine across the entire floorboard, while the newer model has a flat unit. Hence, the latter offers more convenience in terms of space on the footboard.

At the front, both electric scooters have the same twin-pod LED headlight arrangement, which is flanked by an oval DRL (daytime running light). The S1 Pro also gets a traditional telescope front fork and dual rear shocks, compared to the older model, which had a unique single-sided front shock and a mono-shock.

S1 Pro Gen 1 vs S1 Pro Gen 2: Battery and Motor

The EV maker modified the battery pack to be more effective and lighter; the S1 Pro Gen 2 still uses the same 4kWh battery pack as the previous model. In comparison, the older generation S1 had a range of 170 km, while it could accelerate from 0 to 40 kmph in 2.9 seconds and reach a top speed of 116 kmph. However, recharging the battery remains the same as it takes 6.5 hours to charge from 0 to 100 percent.

S1 Pro Gen 1 vs S1 Pro Gen 2: Features

There is no change in the features of the new S1 Pro Gen 1 compared to the older model, as the entire set of speakers, party mode, and connectivity features have been retained. Ola Bikes has changed the way it integrates TFT displays in vehicles, but from a customer perspective, it is similar to the S1 Pro Gen 1.

More features include alloy wheels, disc brakes at both ends with the combination braking system, full LED lighting, 12-inch wheels wrapped in 110/90-section tires, and many more features.
