TVS Motor Company has raised the bar in the world of motorcycles with the launch of the highly anticipated new motorcycle TVS Ronin. The TVS Ronin 225 is the company’s first-ever neo-retro scrambler-style motorcycle, launched in India recently. 

This versatile cafe racer bike promises to redefine adventure riding with its cutting-edge features, captivating design, and unparalleled performance.

TVS Ronin: Features

TVS has been known to equip its offerings with interesting features and the TVS Ronin 225 is no different. The TVS Ronin is packed with a host of advanced features and amenities designed to enhance the overall riding experience:

There is a full LED lighting setup for the headlamp, tail lamp, and tail lights as well. While the headlamp features a ‘T’ shaped pilot lamp. Meanwhile, a sleek tail lamp completes the look. 

Apart from that, the Ronin features an asymmetrically mounted LCD instrument cluster that comes with the TVS SmartXonnect Bluetooth module that can also connect with the dedicated smartphone application to offer some useful data. You also get two ABS modes: Rain and Road, a slipper clutch, and the Glide through technology. 

TVS Ronin: Variants

The newly launched TVS Ronin is offered in four distinct variants – SS – Single Channel ABS, DS – Single Channel ABS, TD- Dual Channel ABS, and TD- Special Edition – all of which are mechanically near-identical to each other. The main difference between the variants stems from different connectivity options, color schemes, and cosmetic touches. 

Ronin SS – Single Channel ABS

The most affordable variant of the Ronin is the SS variant. It is available in two single-tone paint schemes with two colors to choose from, black and red. It gets non-adjustable levers and single-channel ABS. Visually, there are very few different touches to the components such as the seat, and muffler guard as well as the omission of decals present on other variants. This is the only variant of the motorcycle to get a black finish on its front fork and the connectivity options aren’t available.

Ronin DS – Single Channel ABS

The second variant of the Ronin launched by TVS Bikes is the DS variant. It comes with two dual-tone color schemes. This is the only variant of the bike to get an all-black seat and a silver headlamp rim finish. Like the top-variant TD, the DS gets a golden finish on the front fork as well. The non-adjustable levers and a single-channel ABS are the same as from the base SS variant.  

Ronin TD – Dual Channel ABS

The third variant of the Ronin is the TD variant.  It is the only one in the Ronin line-up to get dual-channel ABS as well as 3-step adjustable levers. The dual-channel ABS on the motorcycle brings a 1kg increase in the TD’s kerb weight. The TD is also the only variant to get Bluetooth connectivity with voice assist and also turn-by-turn navigation. The TD variant comes in two color options, with the grey color option.

Ronin TD Special Edition

The range-topping variant is the TD Special Edition variant. Mechanically, the special edition Ronin TD remains unchanged. The 225.9cc, air/oil-cooled motor produces 20.1bhp at 7,750rpm and a peak torque of 19.93Nm. The engine is paired with a five-speed gearbox. The TD Special Edition variant is available in a new triple-tone Nimbus Grey color option, along with a new graphic design.

TVS Ronin: Colors

TVS Motor Company has launched the Ronin in six stunning color options. 

Single-tone variant –

  • The single-tone variant is launched in Magma Red which features on the fuel tank and side panels. 
  • It is also available in Lightning Black color which is completely blacked-out. 

Dual-tone variant –

  • The dual-tone variant is launched in the Delta Blue color option that features red pinstripe stickers on the alloy wheels.
  • It is also available in the Stargaze Black option which also possesses red pinstripe stickers on the alloy wheels and golden fork bottles.

Triple-tone variant –

  • The triple-tone variant is launched in the Galactic Grey color option which gets a mix of grey and black with yellow highlights that run on the tank and panels. 
  • The second color option the customer could opt for is the Dawn Orange paint which has a similar combination as the grey, only with orange.
  • The latest launch third color option is the Nimbus Grey paint scheme which uses grey as the primary tone, white color as the secondary tone, and a red stripe as the third tone.

TVS Ronin: Prices

TVS Ronin’s price for its variant – Ronin SS – Single Channel ABS starts at Rs. 1,49,200. The price for the other variants – Ronin DS – Single Channel ABS, Ronin TD – Dual Channel ABS, and Ronin TD Special Edition are Rs. 1,56,700, Rs. 1,68,950 and Rs. 1,72,700.
